My name is Eva Dueñas and I am the creator of Sew a Song. It all started in 2011 when I opened my first online shop in Etsy.
My previous job as an architecture drafter gave me a graphic view of the design process.
I always look for harmony in geometric shapes and elemental lines, but my work process is based on momentum, chaos, and the importance of mistakes. I look for the balance between chaos and direction.
Even though it all started with drafting, I never make drawings or sketches, instead I like to touch the materials directly. Sometimes I leave the projects on a table for weeks, I move them around a little and I wait for them to talk to me. In many ways, it is like a game or a kind of personal puzzle.
My pieces are produced locally and I always look for local suppliers.
I do the soldering and polishing process myself, but I work with a small soldering workshop located in Barcelona during the busy seasons.
The gold plating is done in local workshops in Barcelona so that I can guarantee the quality.
I now have a sterling silver line which I make by hand and make to order so I minimize overproduction.
I work really hard to get contemporary basics that make you feel good. I hope you like them.
